Not all great hotels are on the beach


The beach is a great location for many hotels, but not having a beach location can have its benefits. You are far from the beach party noise, you do not get sand in your room, and you can still experience Aruba like it should be experienced.


The Arubas Bakval Suites is a charming little hotel with 6 rooms that make you feel like you are sleeping in your own bedroom. They are comfortable, well decorated and the best part is you do not have to climb any stairs to get to your room.


Reservations and Check-in


You need to make reservations to stay at this hotel. With only 6 rooms there are not a lot of vacancies throughout the year. The check-in process is a bit different from other hotels, there is no front desk to go to when you arrive.


Instead, you will get an email 7 days before your arrival giving you all the instructions to check in and how to use the lockbox. Then 72 hours before you arrive contact the property for further instructions and confirming your arrival.


It is a unique way to have guests check in but it works for this classy hotel that is not far from the beach. Families who want to stay at this charming hotel can have 2 children under the age of 12 stay free but pets are not allowed.


Upon your arrival make sure to have a credit or debit card, or a cash deposit to cover any incidental expenses.


Many tourist favorites are close by


One thing about being a bit further from the beach is that you are closer to some top restaurants, tourist sites, and more. The Hyatt Regency Casino is only a 3-minute walk away, Palm Beach is only 5 minutes away when you are on foot, and other top beaches are under a 10-minute drive away.


Also, if you are in the mood for some laughs, the Aruba Ray’s Comedy Club is only about 1/3 of a mile away. If you get hungry, there are roughly 13 restaurants within walking distance of this hotel.


It may not be on the beach but it is conveniently located to almost everything you want to do. Even the Renaissance Mall Aruba is only an 8-minute drive. When you book a room at this quaint little hotel, you get convenience and charm all rolled into one.


Room Rates and Fees


The room rates are quite reasonable. You are looking at paying roughly $80 per night for two people if you are traveling at the end of October. The room rates will rise during peak season and if you are bringing children 13 and older along with you.


You will need to pay a $100 room deposit. This is paid only once and it is per stay. If you need a crib or an infant bed, let the hotel owners know prior to arriving at the hotel. These items need to be arranged in advance.
