A Flavorful Escape in Paradise: Tandoor The Indian Grill House in Aruba
If you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine while soaking up the Caribbean sun in Aruba, look no further than Tandoor The Indian Grill House. Tucked into the lively South Beach Center at Palm Beach 55 in Palm - Eagle Beach, this gem has earned its reputation as one of the island’s top Indian restaurants. With consistently strong ratings (around 4.1–4.5 stars across TripAdvisor and OpenTable) and hundreds of glowing reviews, Tandoor delivers a memorable dining experience that perfectly blends bold Northern Indian flavors with warm hospitality. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly roasted spices and sizzling tandoor ovens welcomes you. The restaurant strikes a nice balance—vibrant enough for a fun night out with friends or family, yet comfortable for a romantic dinner. During our visit, the place filled up quickly, but the attentive staff kept theenergy high without sacrificing service quality. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the menu, happily explaining dishes and spice levels. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated, drawing from Mogul, Punjabi, Kashmiri, and other regional Indian traditions. Standouts included the Tandoori Chicken, marinated to perfection and cooked in the traditional clay oven for that signature smoky char. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and creamy with just the right balance of spices, while the Mutton Dhabha featured incredibly tender lamb in a robust, flavorful gravy. For seafood lovers, the tandoori shrimp and fish options were fresh and succulent. Vegetarians and vegans are especially well-cared for here—Tandoor offers a dedicated vegan menu with around 30 options, making it a standout choice in the Caribbean. We started with crispy samosas and flavorful paneer appetizers, followed by generous portions of buttery naan and fragrant basmati rice. Everything tasted incredibly fresh—no heavy oils, MSG, or preservatives, just quality ingredients and house-ground masalas. Portions are satisfying (especially for Aruba), and the prices, while reflecting the island’s resort location, felt fair for the quality and generous servings. We also enjoyed refreshing mojitos and a couple of excellent cocktails that complemented the bold spices beautifully. What sets Tandoor apart is its commitment to freshness and authenticity. The restaurant prides itself on lean meats, house-roasted spices, and made-to-order dishes that burst with layered flavors. Whether you prefer mild or fiery heat, the kitchen accommodates preferences graciously. Gluten-free options are also handled well, according to fellow diners. Service remained excellent even as the restaurant got busy. The team was efficient, warm, and attentive throughout. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of rather than rushed. If you’re visiting Aruba and love Indian food (or want to try something beyond the usual beach fare), Tandoor The Indian Grill House is a must. It’s consistently praised as the best Indian spot on the island for good reason—exceptional food, caring service, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps visitors returning trip after trip. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Reservations are smart, especially during peak season.
